A Tale of Two Colors

IMG_0953For the first time in history, the “Color Bible,” Pantone, decided to blend two colors to form the color of the year for 2016. We were intrigued. Everybody should be happy; it’s a blending of Rose Quartz (pink) and Serenity (blue), and we’re already seeing national clothing chains picking up on it, especially in kidswear.

Here’s what we know about these colors, which you’ll see adorning shelves and racks in clothing and home accessories.

Rose Quartz: It’s a “persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure,” according to Pantone.

Serenity: “Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”

It’s a warm-fuzzy combination that contrasts well and works with neutrals and mid-tones, doing well in multiple finishes, even metallics.

So. Experiment with an end table or a niche; so try the combo and let us know what you think at raleighmag.com.
