Now Open

Oak & Dagger

Oak & Dagger’s Research Library (bottle shop) is now open where Tyler’s bottle shop used to be at Seaboard Station.   Construction continues on the rest of their project Oak & Dagger Public House.

Brier Creek Beer Garden

Brier Creek Beer Garden is now open with over 50 beers on draft (mostly NC) and more than 100 bottles plus food. The Brier Creek Beer Garden is a welcome addition to the Brier Creek shopping mall, which lacks casual places where you can grab a beer with friends. It’s also one of the few places where you can find plenty of outdoor seating, instead of a handful of tables along a busy walkway. The interior space features long wooden tables and benches, a welcoming décor and, of course, plenty of beers on tap.  The menu goes beyond traditional bar food.  You’ll find crowd pleasers like burgers, fried chicken and chili, but you’ll also see some interesting dishes to try including spicy duck enchiladas, pork belly tacos and shredded Brussels sprouts. But the real surprise is their brunch menu, and the fact that they even have one.

Positalia Italian Eatery

The family-owned Positalia Italian Eatery is now open at Brier Creek.  Positalia serves authentic Italian food created by Executive Chef Nina Psarros.

Coming Soon

San Marcos Mexican Restaurant

San Marcos Mexican Restaurant will open in early June in the former Crabtree Tavern behind Crabtree Valley Mall.

Bare Bones

Eschelon Experiences restaurant group will open Bare Bones a new rib, burger and beer restaurant in the former Zinda location on Fayetteville Street. The new concept for Bare Bones is that the food is so good you’ll eat it down to the bone. The restaurant was devised to showcase head chef Taion McElveen’s delicious menu of Southern food, smoked meats, in-house sauces and rubs, and tasty ribs, says Dustin Slemp, the Creative Director of Eschelon Experiences restaurant group.

“Taion is like a big warm teddy bear,” says Slemp, of the décor that will reflect the chef’s personality. “We’re creating this warm, inviting space.” The casual restaurant will feature billiard tables, shuffleboard, and ring and hook games, alongside 24 beers on tap.

“We want everyone to enjoy themselves,” he adds.

Brewerks Café & Bakery

Brewerks Café & Bakery will open in the old Quality Grocery space in Oakwood. The café will offer fresh artisan breads, breakfast/lunch dishes and to-go meals.

Buku

Buku is expanding north, owners planned to open a smaller location near the Heritage development in Wake Forest. They hope to open in the fall.

Closing

Sam’s Pizza and Salads

Sam’s Pizza and Salads at North Hills closed suddenly at the end of April. We hear that Pieology Pizzeria that just opened on Hillsborough Street will open in the space in July.
