1. Homegrown Marketplace
This food, wine and beer expo features 100 N.C. companies offering everything from snacks and sauces to pinot noir and pilsners. It costs $3 to get in, but every visitor will receive $2 in Lowes Bucks that can be redeemed inside the Marketplace. (Presented by Lowes)
2. Pig Races
It’s hard to imagine a festival without the Hogway Speedway. Cheer on your favorite swift-footed swine, and see who will win the coveted cheese doodle prize in this heart-pounding race around the track.
3. Daily Tractor Parades
The Got To Be NC Festival boasts one of the largest displays of antique tractors and farm equipment in the Southeast. Don’t miss your chance to see these restored relics in action as they circle the fairgrounds in a daily parade at 1 p.m.
4. Carolina Bluegrass Battle
Visitors can enjoy some of the best traditional and contemporary bluegrass acts in the state during this annual competition. Bands will pick and pluck their way to the top of the pack from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
5. Masonic Carolina Pig Jig
Eastern? Western? All of the above? No matter what style of ‘cue you choose, you can find it at this annual all-you-care-to-eat barbecue cook-off. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 7-10, and free for kids 6 and under. All proceeds benefit the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford.
