Inviting Entry

An inviting entryway is essential for welcoming guests into your home, which means the perfect paint color is key. A sunny yellow creates a cheerful environment to come home to and instantly puts your visitors in a good mood, while neutral tones in off-white shades exude a crisp and sophisticated atmosphere that makes for the perfect backdrop to any additional design elements or decorations.

I love the reflective quality of this off-white color for a foyer and, while it “leans” beige, it is not boring. Maritime White blends well into other material choices (wood or wallpaper) and would not detract from a feature or statement wall. It also allows for easy flow from the foyer into other rooms with more vivid color.

There’s nothing better than sunny yellow to welcome you home on a dreary day, or to give you a cheerful outlook first thing in the morning.  Benjamin Moore’s Banan-Appeal is my personal favorite entryway color, donning the foyer of my previous home and never ceasing to lift my spirits!

When designing a foyer, I usually opt for classic, neutral colors. I love using soft white colors which get along well with practically any other shade. Elegant and sophisticated, white hues can be used to open up spaces and act as a backdrop to any room that requires a crisp, clean, well-designed look. My go-to foyer color is Benjamin Moore Cloud White OC 130….it is a soft white with a hint of grey.
