Playwright, composer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda’s acclaimed Broadway musical “Hamilton” lands in movie form for streaming on Disney Plus on July 3. We asked Brent Simpson, the managing director for Raleigh’s Theatre in the Park, for his thoughts on ideal “Hamilton” viewing practices. “‘Hamilton’ is one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen,” Simpson says. “So original and fresh. I had the amazing fortune of seeing it in New York twice.”

Here are Simpson’s tips for watching “Hamilton” at home.

• Settle in. It’s a long show but you will never know that. It moves with purpose.
• Learn. It’s a living history lesson and you will discover things you never knew.
• There is no need to print out lyrics. It sucks you in with the first beat. You can follow along with ease.
• Kleenex—it will tug at your heart strings. It brought me to tears more than once.
• Enjoy! It’s a beautiful experience.

• Get creative!
• Sam Adams Beer—a must for any adults in the house—“raise a glass to freedom!”
• Aaron BURRgers!
• HAMilton ham sandwiches.
• “I’m not throwing away my shot” shots!
• Hercules Mulligan stew.

I could go on and on!
