Everyone knows the best part of traveling is the food. But what if you could travel to another country with a famous chef? … Well, that dream could become a reality. Katsuji Tanabe, Top Chef alum and chef/owner of the new a’Verde Cocina + Tequila Library, is going on a culinary-focused trip to the Yucatán with Modern Adventure (a travel company that connects wanderlusters to extraordinary travel experiences with top brands and tastemakers) Dec. 4–9—and everyone’s invited (!).

A Mexico City native, Tanabe will be taking jet-setters on a six-day tour of some of the world’s most delectable destinations in the Yucatán, including Mérida, Chichén Ítza, Uxmal and Temozón. “The Yucatán is a very complex part of Mexico, and one of the most underappreciated,” says Tanabe. “I just get excited when I can show people my culture in a new way.”

Not only will attendees get to see the Yucatán through the eyes of Tanabe, but they’ll also get to savor specially prepared Yucatecan feasts, explore Mayan temples and tropical forests, and meet traditional makers and local craftspeople. Me gusta! modernadventure.com
