The three-day show, held at the Fairgrounds from September 20-22, features celebrity appearances home improvement, landscape, interior design, workshops and hundreds of vendors showcasing the hottest new products.

Build It Like Bendrick
Landscape designer Sara Bendrick gets her hands dirty beautifying the outdoors spaces ofCalifornia homes as host of two DIY Network series – Build It Like Bendrick and Lawn & Order. Growing up in San Diego, she discovered a passion for being hands on and creating what she wanted to see in her world. Sara brings that passion to each of her landscape design projects, realizing each one has unique challenges and budget constraints that pave the way for creative solutions.
Because of this love for art and nature, Sara studied Landscape Architecture at California Polytechnic State University. After college, she honed her residential design skills by working for a design and build firm, eventually starting her own landscape design business. Sara prides herself on incorporating her clients’ personalities into elements of her designs, whether for private residences or large-scale commercial projects.

A natural-born entertainer, creator, decorator, gardener and jack-of-all-trades, Trace Barnett always knew he would pursue a career with a creative outlet. After years of working with various design groups, national lifestyle publications and appearing on Food Network Star, Trace launched The Bitter Socialite, an entertaining and lifestyle design firm that is anything but stuck-up or stuffy. His book Tracing Roots focuses on taking a modern approach to living off the land. Trace appears at the show on Friday and Saturday to show guests how to elevate their tablescapes for less this holiday season; some great DIY projects and rumor has it — how to make an fall-themed cocktail, too.

WRAL’s money-saving expert and author of The Smart Spending Guide Faye Prosser leads a workshop that will show you how easy it is to save on groceries and other everyday expenses. You’ll learn tips and tricks that will change the way you shop and teach you to live more comfortably within your means. The Fairgrounds Southern Ideal Home Show celebrates Local Hero Day on Friday, September 20 with complimentary admission for all EMTs, firefighters, police, medical personnel, and active duty and retired military personnel. SImply show your valid ID at the box office for a free ticket. On Sunday, September 22, the show honors another group of heroes—teachers. To thank educators for their hard work and dedication, the Show offers complimentary admission on Teachers Day. Bring your valid school ID and present it at the box office for free admission.
