Join us for a spooky stroll through North Carolina’s capital city. On this informative and engaging tour, you will hear stories about ghosts, hauntings, and other paranormal activity. This tour is not your typical “ghost tour” with special effects. Instead, it is a history tour that discusses real hauntings resulting from past events and other twisted, unbelievable historical happenings.

The walking tour begins at the front gate of the N.C. Executive Mansion (Governor’s Mansion), 200 N. Blount St.  There are stops at several city landmarks, where your guide will discuss the history and legacy of the landmark and then regale you with an eerie story. Other haunted and twisted stories will be presented as the group ventures along the route. This tour is a perfect combination of haunts and history!

PLEASE NOTE: This tour is NOT recommended for children under 14 years old, due to the graphic nature of a few of the stories.  The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, but may be slightly shorter than that depending on the size and speed of the group.

This tour will NOT start and end at the same place. We will start at the Governor's Mansion at 200 N. Blount St. The Governor's Mansion takes up an entire city block, so please make sure that you are on the Blount St. side of the mansion. The starting point for the summer is in the shade on the corner of Blount and Jones Sts. Please do NOT attempt to enter the grounds of the Governor's Mansion at any time, especially through any of the entrances at the corners of the block. The tour will finish near the Legislative Building/Museum of Natural Sciences at 16 W. Jones St., which is approximately 2 blocks from the starting point. Please plan your parking accordingly!

This tour is pay-what-you-want — if you enjoy the tour, please compensate your guide appropriately! Usually, the guide receives $15 to $20 per adult, but you are free to give more or less than that, depending on how you feel about your tour. As you can imagine, the tour guide has to work hard to earn your appreciation!
