Wine is a living thing that deteriorates quickly once exposed to air. Not so with Madeira. Dubbed as an indestructible wine, it can withstand any natural factors thrown its way. As a wine intentionally oxidized, destroyed by elevated heat and air, its flavors take on a level of complexity unmatched by any other wine. Not surprisingly, Madeira was also the Founding Fathers’ tipple of choice, it’s revitalizing acidity and nuttiness were enjoyed throughout different events of the country’s rich history.
