SUMMARY:Arts at St. Luke’s presents May Musicale
DESCRIPTION:Our final Arts event of the 2025-26 season\, May Musicale\, will take place on Sunday\, May 17 at 4:00 p.m in the nave of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 1737 Hillandale Rd.\, Durham. This “mixed bouquet” of music will feature Kaye Saunders\, David Arcus\, and other St. Luke’s musicians\, offering a variety of music old and new. Highlights include Bach’s Trio Musical Offering featuring Ehsan Samei\, Cathy Rimer-Surles\, and Rachel Evans; and David Arcus’s award-winning Song of Ruth and Naomi for soprano and organ. You will hear beloved selections such as “The Swan” from Carnival of the Animals\, Schubert’s Ave Maria\, familiar hymn arrangements\, and portions of Vivaldi’s Gloria. This is a free event\, but donations are welcome. All are invited to a reception after the performance.

DESCRIPTION:The fourth annual Gettin’ Piggy With It returns to downtown Raleigh on May 17\, bringing award-winning chefs and pitmasters from across the country together for a day of barbecue\, community and philanthropy benefiting the Frankie Lemmon School. \nTickets go on sale at noon Friday\, March 20\, at frankielemmonfoundation.org/gettinpiggywithit/. \nThe family-friendly event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Maywood Hall and Gardens (622 Maywood Ave.\, Raleigh) and will feature barbecue and other chef-driven bites\, along with local beer and spirits\, live music\, games and more.
