Event Descriptions:
● Family Funday: Family Funday at the Pope House is a family-friendly, day-long event celebrating African American freedom, history, and community.We will be kicking off our event with a libations ceremony, conducted by Dr. Kwesi Brookins. Hosted during regular museum operating hours, we will be offering amended house and neighborhood walking tours, arts and crafts, light refreshments/water ice to keep our guests cool, and rare historic artifacts from the Pope Family collection and Shaw University. From 1-4pm, we will be having a DJ This event is intended for all audiences, and hopes to draw in those celebrating the Juneteenth holiday and interested in African American history.
