With more than four decades of dedicated practice\, Hetzel has developed a signature approach that finds drama and delight in the overlooked beauty of the everyday world. Working primarily from life and imagination on 100% rag paper with the finest archival pigments\, she builds luminous\, richly layered compositions that pulse with color and energy. Her work has been recognized by the National Watercolor Society\, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America\, Watercolor West\, and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society\, among others\, and has been featured three times in the prestigious annual publication Splash. Paintings from her studio are held in private and public collections throughout the United States and Great Britain. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the full range of her vision in person.
