A mug shot website is going dark. Beginning Aug. 1 A mug shot website is going dark. Beginning Aug. 17, Wake County will stop posting mug shots and daily arrest records online, saying the move keeps outdated records from lingering online long after charges are dismissed or expunged.

While the records obvioulsy won't disappear, they'll only be available through in-person searches at the Public Safety Center. Supporters say the change better protects people whose records have been cleared, while critics argue it makes public records less accessible.

83 South’s Hillsborough Street debut is in jeopard 83 South’s Hillsborough Street debut is in jeopardy. Highwoods Properties is exercising their right to terminate the lease for their Bloc83 space because they defaulted by failing to open within 90 days of the date they started paying rent (meaning by July 12). 83 South disputes the allegations.

“There is a dispute over the terms of the lease,” 83 South attorney Jeremy Adams tells Raleigh Magazine. “We believe we can resolve it amicably, and we are working with Highwoods Properties.”

Sources tell RM that due to construction delays, the restaurant—originally expected to open by the end of June—was expecting to open within 90 days.
