In a win for local fans, ticket-buying is about to In a win for local fans, ticket-buying is about to become more transparent. As part of the NC budget, a new law will go into effect applying to live entertainment tickets sold or resold on or after Oct. 1. The new protections will:

🎟️ Require upfront ticket pricing
🎟️ Ban speculative ticket sales
🎟️ Strengthen restrictions on ticket-buying bots
🎟️ Require resale marketplaces to clearly disclose when consumers are buying resale tickets

The provision comes after Senate Bill 849, aka the “Real Tickets, Real Fans Act,” which was added to the budget after it failed legislative approval as a standalone bill.
