Gov. Josh Stein signed Senate Bill 257 into law yesterday morning, enacting the $34.4 billion spending plan—the state’s first comprehensive budget since 2023. It also includes what Stein called the largest starting teacher pay raise in state history.⁠

📝 $700 million for Hurricane Helene recovery⁠
📝 More than $1 billion to help Medicaid keep up with enrollment growth and rising health care costs⁠

Get ready to fuel up. Highly anticipated restauran Get ready to fuel up. Highly anticipated restaurant @lloydsfullservice is officially opening in downtown Cary in August. Set in a restored 1950s service station and named after its founder K.M. Lloyd, the project preserved much of the original gas station facade while adding a covered three-season patio, which will be serviced by a vintage-style delivery van serving food and drinks. Expect a casual, approachable dinner menu to start—think salt and vinegar fish fry, linguine with clams, seasonal salads, and breakfast-for-dinner—with lunch and weekend brunch launching this fall.⁠
