It’s tradition for children to leave out milk and cookies for Santa Claus the night before Christmas—plus a carrot for the reindeer, if you’re feeling extra festive. But what if your kids actually got to enjoy the milk and cookies with ‘ole Saint Nick himself? This year, STIR in North Hills is making that possible.
Throughout December, STIR will host a Cookies with Santa series where children (and the children in all of you adults) can enjoy milk and cookies with Santa Claus—also known as JD Thomas, who works as an Amtrak engineer when the Santa suit comes off.
It’s free to visit with Santa but reservations through STIR are encouraged. Santa will remain socially distanced unless guests want to take a photo with him in front of the beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the outside lobby.
Visit with Santa Claus every Tuesday and Thursday in December up until Christmas from 2 to 4 p.m. While Santa will not be working on Christmas Eve, you can visit him on December 23 instead.
Thomas—er, Santa—will also make house visits by request. Last year, he showed up to kids’ homes in his jolly Santa suit and delivered presents, took photos or discussed Christmas wish lists. This year, Santa will take all the necessary COVID precautions, including wearing a mask and social distancing, and he’ll also do virtual visits and Santagrams. “We’re going to make [the holidays] the best as we can in this weird time,” Thomas says.
Call Thomas directly to reserve a date and time for personal Santa visits at 919-889-4498 and keep up with his other holiday happenings at facebook.com/southboundsanta.
