A penne for our thoughts on a few pasta-tively delicious restos in Raleigh.

Feeling saucy? To celebrate National Pasta Month, we spotlight a few notorious noodle nosh spots around Raleigh. Slurp on!

Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar

If you’re in the mood for an alfresco affair a la an authentic Italian trattoria, transport yourself to Italy via the stunning atmosphere and super-appetizing dishes at Mulino. With fresh, made-in-house pasta made with local flour and eggs (our fave is the gnocchi!), it’s im-pasta-able to leave here hungry.

Cucciolo Terrazza

This modern Italian resto offers up a small but mighty menu with a focus on, well, housemade moods. Slurp down superb selects like lobster bucatini, spicy vodka tomato cream rigatoni, wild boar agnolotti and more—with a bottle of vino to pair, natch.

Gravy

If you love to get lost in the sauce, take a seat at this DTR mainstay for its signature gravy, prepared in-house every day using select tomatoes and locally grown herbs. It’s the heart and soul of Italian-American cooking, and it simply smacks. Give us the gravy!

Caffe Luna

Ooh la la! This longtime Raleigh gem screams tradition, what with dishes created with a Tuscan flair—think ravioli Fiorentina, farfalle al salmone, linguini fra diavolo and more. Bon appetit!

Amedeo’s Italian Restaurant

Show your support for the Pack and pasta (!) with a dinner out at Amedeo’s, founded by a former NC State football player with a passion for pasta and the Wolfpack (naturally). We rec an order of the Pack pasta. #WITH!

Vic’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

Setting the standards high for authentic Old World Italian food, this local family-owned resto has been serving the City of Oaks family recipes for almost 30 years. All of the pasta dishes come with a side of fresh garlic knots (!), and they never disappoint.
