Mayberry Meets the Mountains

An easygoing escape with plenty of small-town soul.

Mount Airy may be best known for being the real-life inspiration for Mayberry, but the foothills town has plenty of character beyond The Andy Griffith Show. Local breweries, cocktail bars and live music lend a modern touch to the squad car tours, nostalgic storefronts and old-school lunch counters that dot downtown’s devotion to its proud TV history.

Blackmon Amphitheatre
