Time Warp: Bringing Back the Funk & Groove of the 1970s

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to boogie
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA (JULY 20, 2026) – The Friends of the City of Raleigh (COR) Museum will host their popular fundraiser event known as Time Warp on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Museum.
This year’s theme, “Bringing Back the Funk & Groove of the 1970s,” will take attendees back to the era of disco balls and wide lapels. The museum will be transformed into a dazzling 1970s disco experience, so be sure to dress in your boldest bell bottoms, sequins and platform shoes. There will be a prize for the best costume.
Tickets include a high-energy DJ to boogie to as well as casino tables, a photo booth, festive cocktails and mocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and raffle tickets for chances to win fabulous prizes. All ticket holders will also receive a groovy swag bag as an added treat.
“Come out and play, sparkle and celebrate while helping preserve the future of Raleigh’s past,” says Robyn Herndon, director of the Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum. “This is one party you will not want to miss!”
Museum members can attend the event for only $50!
The event is held at the museum at 220 Fayetteville St. from 6:30 to 11 p.m.
In 2025, the event saw more than 100 attendees. This year, organizers expect those numbers to double. In order to secure your chance to experience this unique event, tickets must be purchased in advance. If there are open slots available, some walk-up tickets may be sold onsite.
This year’s title sponsor is Campbell University’s School of Law.
