If craftiness is happiness, consider utter contentment found. Officially launched in mid-August, crafty newcomer Crafted & Lade is the brainchild of Raleighite and App State alum Dan Healy, who grew up in North Raleigh and recently returned to the Cap City. One hundred percent committed to handcrafted home goods—never peddling merch manufactured on an assembly line or in a factory—nearly 100% of Crafted & Lade goods are crafted here in NC (read 97%). “Raleigh feels appropriate to start this venture as it is so central to the state’s cultural regions of the coast, Piedmont and mountains,” says Healy. “Raleigh itself has so much character. As we see it grow and bring in new business, I hope to celebrate the artistic and entrepreneurial culture that makes this city—and NC—uniquely down-to-earth.” Also intentionally unique: the goods. It’s Healy’s hope for the spotlight to shine squarely on the products and people who make them—and for you to fill your home with personality (aka wares that have stories to tell).
